Climbing Up the Table!

By: Jamie | October 4th, 2009

Here’s a match that I was definitely worried about – Stuttgart have the potential to be quite dangerous, but it seems like with the loss of Mario Gomez, they have indeed lost a lot of their potency. I haven’t had a chance to watch the match yet, but it’s up on ESPN 360, so I plan to watch it tomorrow and will get back to you all with a match report. Hunt is keeping up his excellent goalscoring record, and Pizarro keeps proving what an important permanent signing he was as well.

2-0 to the Green-Whites, and almost in a Champions League position!

Here are highlights – check out ickle Marko squaring up to Mad Jens!

I watched the match. Bremen controlled the midfield away from home and were defensively sound! Stuttgart had lot of possession but very little penetration or shot on target to speak with:) Bremen are getting better and better and Schaff has compromised his all out attacking philosophy for the better of sound and balanced Werder Bremen :)

Only 5 points off the top – but Hamburg are at the top. Still better than Munich being at the top. :P

The Stuttgart game is the first time I’ve seen Werder in a long time, and I must say, they look damn good. Ozil and Marin are a couple of dynamite playmakers, and Pizarro has a nice finishing touch. Hunt seems to have excellent offensive instincts, and Frings provides a nice center link between offense and defense.

Naldo and Mertesacker look OK in center D (and it’s nice that Naldo can also score goals) but I didn’t get much of a sense for the outside backs. Stuttgart wasn’t exactly storming the wings, but I didn’t see much from Fritz and Pasanen – how are they?

Based on what I saw, the defeat of Atletico does not look fluky at all, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them win in bilbao either. Looks like the Hanseatic League is back!

Obviously, deregulation means more punters, more bookmakers, more markets, better odds and more intro offers.
