Sorry. Couple of problems occurred but I’m back now. Full steam.
Schalke – Werder…
A 1:1 draw that didn’t quite help us. We’re now third with Hamburger SV with two and the Bavarians six points ahead of us. It was a tough game though and the main thing is we didn’t lose this one even though we should be a little disappointed because Sanogo missed two good chances. Grossmueller opened the result in the 14th minute after a free kick. Sanogo then missed the first chance. In the 34th minute, Naldo with a header made it 1:1 after a free kick. After this, Sanogo missed his second nice chance.
Schalke 4-2-1-3: Neuer; Rafinha, Westermann, Bordon, Pander; Jones, Ernst; Grossmueller; Asamoah, Kuranyi, Lovenkrands (Rakitic 63’)
Werder 4-3-1-2: Wiese; Harnik, Mertesacker, Naldo, Tošić; Jensen (Baumann 33’), Frings, Borowski (Vranjes 90’); Diego; Almeida, Sanogo (Rosenberg 84’)
And the standings…
Bayern 27pts
Hamburger SV 23pts
Werder 21pts
Karlsruher SC 20pts
Schalke 04 18pts
Two home games follow now. Both are must-win games. First against Hansa Rostock and then against Karlsruher.
German Cup stuff…
A more or less expected win here. Could have went both ways in the first half. Half time score was 0:0. But the boys woke up in the second half and scored all of the goals then. Borowski (59’), Almeida (68’), Rosenberg (79’) and Mosquera (87’) made sure we continue our run for the Cup.
Werder Reserves won also. Their victim was St Pauli. It wasn’t a piece of cake job so Werder had to win on penalties to go through to the next phase.
Cup needs to be taken in consideration too. It’s a trophy after all and it won’t do no harm if we win it (in other words… Schaaf should make this happen, bring this trophy to us so that if we don’t win the title, we don’t find ourselves empty handed when the season ends).
Werder – Hansa preview coming soon (not in 2 or 3 days… I mean soon… in about an hour)…

I would have liked to see Bremen win against Schalke, since they could have closed the gap between them and Bayern a bit. But it was a great intense match to watch and the draw was just about the right result.

Yeah, it’s a right result absolutely. But a draw in Gelsenkirchen is always a success.

And Bayern drew their match too, so nothing won or lost at least.
