The addition of the twenty-three year-old Greek international comes for a bargain price of a six month loan for €300k with an option to purchase for €1.6m.
In an impromptu interview with Werder TV mentioned how the transfer went quickly and was complimentary of Werder adding:

I think his performance against Werder Bremen in the Champions League was the main point in the sale, which Tziolis’ hopes is made permanent in the summer.
I am still surprised he wanted to leave Panathinaikos at a time where they are in a unique position in the UEFA Champions League. I assumed he would stick around in Athens until the end of the season, and then seek a transfer out of the Greek capital this summer.

This looks like a great deal for Werder. Why do you think he decided for this move?

I agree, incredible deal for Werder. I kept reading the terms if I made a mistake because a total deal for €1.9m seems low. And leaving the club with the Champions League run is surprising as well. Either way it is a great deal for Werder.
