The Werder Team Photo: Still Including Mesut Özil

Daryl over at the Offside main page has basically summed up what I’ve been wanting to say about this whole Real Madrid business (including the fact that they have about twenty attacking players who could start already). On one hand, I am sick of the whole situation and kind of just want Werder to sell him already and end the speculation. But I also want him to stay because he performs well for Werder and of course can help us achieve our European dream of playing in the CL and possibly advancing to the knock-out rounds. If he does go, I certainly don’t want him to be warming the bench at a big club like Real Madrid that honestly doesn’t even really need him. He should be at a club where he can play and be appreciated, not at a club that buys him just so nobody else can have him. But if Özil is okay with it… what should we do?

So take a look, Werder fans: Will this be the last time we see Özil in a Werder shirt? We should find out on Wednesday, depending on if he plays against Sampdoria or not.
