Werder Cliff Notes
By: Arian | October 16th, 2007
So here I am with the third post. Sorry I’m a bit late. As you know national teams are active this week. I think it’s unnecessary for footballers to be exposed to more and more exertion. They have games every 3 days. So people shouldn’t be surprised if the number of dead players on the field increases. The exertion they are exposed to is huge. (Who is to blame? - FIFA & UEFA)
So… the news:
- Hugo Almeida scored his first international goal for Portugal, helping his national team win with 0:2 against Azerbaijan.
- Weserstadium’s capacity will be increased from 42,000 to 50,000 seats. An extra “shell” will be added. That’s nice. Also a good thing is that the name of the stadium won’t be sold to a corporate company (like most of the German teams did).
- Juventus are after Diego. It’s probably just a little rumor. I don’t think they’ll get him.
- Probably the best news are that Werder could replace Borussia Dortmund or Bayer Leverkusen in the G14.
Sorry I had to disappoint you guys with this short one, but I have hell of a lot of things to do these days. I’ll have the Werder - Hertha match preview done by Thursday or Friday.
