Werder Held 0-0 by Hannover

I only managed to see the second half as I got my timing wrong, but I imagine the first half was much like the second – Werder moving forward but unable to get the ball in the net. I give all the credit to the Hannover goalkeeper, who was an absolute immovable fortress in goal yesterday. Pizarro shoots – saved! But bobbled! Pizarro shoots the rebound – saved! Big Per has a free header on goal – kicked off the goalline by Cherundolo! Marko has an excellent long-range blast on goal – saved! And so on and so on.
Well, it’s better than a loss, but still, I really thought we’d emerge from this match with three points. I guess it’s nice to keep a clean sheet every once in a while, though…
I’m looking forward to GolTV showing some Werder matches again as I particularly enjoy watching Bundesliga matches with an English commentator. So far I haven’t found any streams in English. I like to know if other people are thinking the same thing that I am as I’m watching. Or if they disagree as I’m busy shouting angrily at the computer/television scream. I guess the cameraman for this particular match wasn’t finding the on-the-pitch action too exciting as they spent about a minute focusing on a couple in the crowd cuddling and kissing and feeding each other drinks. And another man looking bored. It’s nice to know what the fans are doing, but I want to watch the match!
Now it’s time to start focusing on Thursday’s Europa League match against Nacional. If we can’t get maximum Bundesliga points, let’s hope we can continue a very strong run in the Europa League like we had last season.
