Werder - Karlsruher preview
By: Arian | November 10th, 2007
The next phase of Champions League is getting away for now. We still have chance though, but they’re theoretical. In the next two games we host Real and go south to Greece where a solid Olympiakos and a crowd that can create hell wait us.
Standings…
Real Madrid 8 pts
Lazio 5 pts
Olympiakos 5 pts
Werder Bremen 3 pts
As I said, there are chances but only theoretical.
Moving on to something brighter. The Bundesliga.
Well I’m sure you enjoyed your popcorns last week because the game sucked. (for me at least…)
Brave Eintracht managed to stop Bayern only to make Bundesliga more interesting. Our win (1:0 vs Hansa) and HSV’s win (2:1 vs Hertha) put a pressure on Bayern. This could prove important in the title race. They must not buckle under the pressure and continue losing points like these. There’s a lot of pressure on them. First, the current roster is one of the best the club has had in recent years, so another season without any trophy would be a complete failure. Second, the pressure made by other teams (which have significantly improved and are stronger than before).
Standings…
Bayern 28 pts
Hamburg 26 pts
Werder Bremen 24 pts
Karlsruher SC 23 pts
Hannover 96 21 pts
Werder – Karlsruher
Or it should better say “Werder – Surprise Of The Season”. Either way it’s third against the fourth at Weserstadion. This team should not be underestimated though. They have beaten Borussia Dortmund and Schalke (at Veltins… and that’s success). We should play like we’re playing against Bayern but we shouldn’t forget it’s only Karlsruhe. In other words… Don’t relax and don’t fuck it up!
Injuries:
Werder: Frank Baumann, Sanogo, Hunt, Owomoyela, Womé, Frings, Boenisch and Ivan Klasnić.
Karlsruher: Markus Miller, Mutzel and Franz are doubtful.
Probable formations…
Werder 4-3-1-2: Wiese; Fritz, Mertesacker, Naldo, Pasanen; Jensen, Andreasen, Borowski; Diego; Rosenberg, Hugo Almeida
Karlsruher 4-2-3-1: Kornetzky; A. Görlitz, Eggimann, Franz, Eichner; Mutzel, Porcello; Timm, Hajnal, Carnell; Kapllani
One thing… Just use the chances and score goals. (if this game goes the same as it went against Hansa, we’re $cr3wed.)
